RPG Maker 2?

I may be creating a TerraEarth: Video Game for RPG Maker 2. It would certainly improve the abilities and quality, so that would be a good idea, but RPG Maker 2 is really tough to manage. So far, my RPG Maker 1 version is coming along nicely. I've managed to program some of the RP Punch-Up and the time of day changes in South Cape. Aside from that, not much. Also, as you update your computer, you not only get spells, but the music quality gets better and more mini-games become availiable. From your first upgrade, you get a fishing mini-game, which is basically random chance.

Terra Earth Projects

For my posts here, they will be categorized:

MOVIE STATUS: Refers to TerraEarth: The Movie
FANFIC STATUS: Refers to any number of TerraEarth Fanfictions.
GAME STATUS: Refers to TerraEarth: The Video Game.

So, for my first update, let's start with

GAME STATUS
-----------

GAME SPECS
---

PSX.
SNES graphics.
RPG (Turn-based battle).

GAME DETAILS
------------

TerraEarth: The Video Game will be a masterwork upon completion. Borrowing the world map from Illusion of Gaia, with a couple of creative changes (such as the addition of the RP Punch-Up Arena, Moderator Castle, and the Red Riotz Hangar and Isle Del Mar De Incendio from TerraEarth: Adventures, and TerraEarth: Haunted House respectively).

There are 15 playable characters: Freedan, Raini, Aoiga, SBF, Jason, Joan, Axe, Blade, Deathpit, Coz, Muerte, Fixy, Unforgiven, eFlare, and Boxxle, each with a unique 2D sprite. New members join your party at different points and you can change them by using a PM station in a city (similar to FFVII's PHS system). The importance of leveling up isn't stressed to hard, as completion of certain missions increases each players EXP, however to keep them battle fresh, it is a good idea to train them up.

The storyline is fairly linear, and at the same time mutliple sidequests and leveling oppurtunities give the game an MMORPG feel. Also, since you can complete the greater storyline in a matter of hours, the added sidequests add some bulk to the game.

The RP Punch-Up Arena holds tournaments that vary as the player gains levels, and provides one of the most addictive mini-games in the game.

Players learn skills and acquire special traits based on their rank. As their EXP rises, they gain the oppurtunity to raise their rank. With two exceptions (eFlare and Boxxle) all players start at the Guest rank. The ranks are as follows:

Guest
Newbie
Resident
Veteran
Knight
Moderator
Administrator
Savior

Computer Parts play a role in the development of your characters too. You can upgrade your system to access more spells by buying special harddrives that range from 386 to Next-Generation. There is even a special "Forbidden HD" that teaches forbidden magic. Everyone learns the same magic at the same time as you buy these HD's, therefore magical ability does not vary much. Skills are also the same based on Rank.

The main differences in ability is special Character Specific Quests. You form a party around a specific character and when the quest is complete, they gain special unique skills.

I hope you look forward to the game.
